Meet Karen Alonso, LMFT

Karen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oklahoma and California, with over 20 years of experience. She received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Chapman University in Orange, California.

Karen has advanced training with the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF), through The Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI). She received training under the supervision of Alec Pollard, Ph.D., of the Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute, an internationally known expert in the field of OCD, OCD Spectrum Disorders, and Anxiety Disorders. Karen specializes in the treatment of teens, and adults.

Training

Karen is also intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), under the supervision of Alan Fruzzetti, Ph.D. DBT skills provide valuable tools to assist with painful emotions that accompany OCD and Anxiety disorders. Karen also has advanced training in Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
